EAL (English as an Additional Language) Strategies
About This Primary Resource
A series of strategies for improving and developing the language skills of children learning EAL (English as an Additional Language). This resource contains a variety of verbal and non-verbal activities and suggestions to support children’s language development, as well as a clear objective for each activity. The strategies have been broken up into the different stages of language development, but these levels are only intended to act as a guide and depend on the individual child. This resource was created by Julie Cigman - an experienced Early Years teacher, writer and consultant. She offers conference workshops, bespoke training and consultancy to Early Years practitioners in schools, day nurseries, pre-schools and children’s centres. You can find out more on her website.
