Lessons from Africa 16: African Family Role-Play
About This Primary Resource
This is a fantastic activity in which your pupils must imagine that they are an African family. They will be given a variety of tasks to complete and decisions to make, as well as challenges that could dramatically change the family’s life if not completed. This exercise helps children to understand what it might be like growing up in poverty and how different life would be if they had been born in Africa.
This resource has been kindly shared with us by Lessons from Africa, which is the education programme run by the charity Send a Cow. For 25 years Send a Cow have been helping thousands of African families and orphans grow enough food to eat, sell their produce and develop small businesses that last.
If you would like to find out more about Send a Cow, or make a donation to the charity, then please have a look at their website: www.sendacow.org.uk.
