Letters & Sounds: Misspelt Book Sorting Activity
About This Primary Resource
A set of fictional children’s book covers ideal to use as part of a phase 5 letters and sounds sorting activity. Some of the books have misspelt titles and so they could be used for a fun and engaging activity where children have to sort them in to the books that need to go on the shelf and the ones that need to go in the bin.
The misspelt words were deliberately selected (by looking at the DFES bank of words for use in phase 5) to demonstrate that there is more than one way to spell certain phonemes (this concept is a big part of phase 5 of the letters and sounds synthetic phonics programme).
These images are also going to be used in the letters and sounds ipad game which we are currently developing. We’re interested to hear your feedback so if you have any suggestions please leave a comment below.
Please note the file is quite large so it may take a few minutes to download.
