About This Primary Resource

This document provides an overview of the letters and sounds programme. It includes definitions of common terms like ‘phonemes’ ‘graphemes’, ‘decoding’, segmenting’ as well as a breakdown of each phase of the letters and sounds synthetic phonics programme. It’s ideal for parents or teachers who are new to the programme and would like to know a bit more about how it is taught.
