Eat Better, Start Better: Nutrition within Early Years Settings
The School Food Trust has drawn up voluntary guidelines for nutrition in early years settings. These guidelines are to be used across five local authority areas as part of the government’s ‘Eat Better, Start Better’ programme (introduced as a result of recommendations made by the Advisory Panel on Food and Nutrition in the Early Years and the Tickell review of the EYFS).
As well as developing recipes, menus and a code of practice for early years practitioners, the School Food Trust will also run training for early years settings and children’s centres on how to provide cooking sessions for families. This training is open to all providers, Further details can be found on the Lets get Cooking website.
