Space Themed Activity Ideas

Outer space is always a very popular topic in the early years and there are lots of fun craft ideas and recipes out there to help you turn your classroom into an alien planet! Below are a few ideas from ELHQ and Pintrest that should help you to decorate your settings appropriately and really explore the topic of space with your class.

–    Decorate your classroom with this beautiful poster of the solar system or space themed poster. and learn about all the different planets. Then decide which planet you’re going to jet off to next! You could also try making some of these fun outer space inspired craft projects from Pintrest to decorate your classroom (or living room!) with.

–    Discuss how you will travel to the new planet, will you go in a space rocket? Look at these photographs from NASA to help you imagine what space is really like.

–   It takes a long time to travel anywhere in space and the little astronauts might get hungry, so try making some space themed food. Below are a few ideas from Pintrest.

–   When you have arrived on your new planet, try some role-play with these alien masks. What do you think aliens would be like? What would you ask them?
