Our first ipad app due for release on Dec 8th!
We have some exciting news….’Phonic Street’ our first ipad app has just been approved by apple and is scheduled for release on the 8th of December.
It’s a phonics revision app for children who are towards the end of the letters and sounds programme. There are 7 levels (the first 2 are completely FREE) and each one addresses a particular set of skills outlined in the letters and sounds programme (although it is equally as relevant to other synthetic phonic teaching programmes).
It’s something we’ve been working on for quite some time so it’s really exciting to get to a point where it is due for release. It’s also a bit nerve wracking as well! So much time and effort has gone into it from the planning stage, to the design and coding stages.
Our designers have worked so hard on the artwork – they really went the extra mile to make sure that every aspect of the game looks good. So far we’ve had a huge amount of positive feedback on the aesthetics.
Free to download from the App Store
In creating this app we’ve tried to follow the same ethos that we’ve followed in creating this website. All of our resources on site are completely free with no premium section and no need to register or download a toolbar. The time and costs involved in creating a high quality app are such that we couldn’t offer the whole game free of charge. Instead we are offering the first 2 levels completely free. The other 5 levels can be purchased from within the game for a single low cost payment of £1.99. We have kept this payment as low as possible and we feel it is very competitive in comparison to many of our competitors.
The ability to upgrade is completely optional. It would be really fantastic if you could help us out by downloading the app and trying out the 2 free levels. Every download will help us to climb the app store chart and any feedback you can offer will be extremely valuable.
This first app has been a massive undertaking – any support you can offer would be very welcome!
We won’t have the app store url until launch day but we will be posting it on twitter and through our newsletter – which you can sign up to at the bottom of the screen.
