Letters and Sounds Phase 1 Planning Guidance
About This Primary Resource
This is a comprehensive list of ideas and suggestions for teaching phase 1 of the DFES Letters and Sounds Programme. It is a fantastic starting point which you can customise and add to. It includes links to useful websites and videos. It is also useful as a general synthetic phonics scheme of work – even if you’re not following the letters and sounds programme. You may also be interested in our Letters and Sounds Phase 1 section.

the early rears are the most in the child’s life
Indeed.
If the child does not receive high quality teaching during these rears, as they are the most in the child’s life, the child may find itself leaving badly punctuated and nonsensical comments on websites when it becomes an adult.
Hahaha! ‘Other’, you have made my day.
But ‘Other’, some people may not have been educated and may not have been given the opportunity to receive a great education, failing that, they may speak English as an additional language. We must not prejudge and we must not ‘bully’ other people You are not teaching or delivering fairness and equality by singling somebody out because of their ‘badly punctuated’ comment. The comment Nida was purely making was that Early Years are so important. And so is being kind and respectful to one another.
I am interested in quality early years resources.
