British Red Cross First Aid Lesson Plan 2: Help Save Lives
About This Primary Resource
This lesson plan will help pupils to learn how to recognise simple symptoms and how to administered very basic (but sometimes lifesaving) first aid. The children will learn how to deal with minor injuries and identify when there is something more seriously wrong that requires an ambulance. The main activity involves a role-play where pupils have to decide what to do when faced with various situations i.e. an asthma attack or a nosebleed. This lesson plan is intended to take around 40-60 minutes and includes separate activities for KS1 and KS2.
This lesson plan has been very kindly shared with us by the British Red Cross and all the information included has been put together by them. You can also find a variety of other resources and useful information about children’s first aid at their website: http://www.redcross.org.uk/education
